  • Feeding Time

    Feeding Time

This downy woodpecker was collecting food for its young along with the female woodpecker. They would alternate and come back with bugs every 10 minutes or so for over an hour. I was able to approach the nest slowly and let them acclimate to me so they continued to work.

  • Friendly Boop

    Friendly Boop

The Pittsburgh zoo offers and endless set of fun and exciting encounters. On this particular morning a pair of tigers was out playing and exchanging rather subdued boops to each other. Looks like a friendly pat on the head, though the massive size of their paws would have easily knocked me off my feet.
